The meeting began with Reverend E.A. Jupiter giving his report on the lunch counter demonstrations that took place in the first week of March. He claimed that the situation was rigged to take the steam out of the protest. He recommended that African Americans recognize the transition taking place in American life, use rank and file leadership rather than self-appointed leaders, re-spend the dollar so as to re-structure consumer practice, and use boycotts to provoke action for bi-racial problem solving. He recommended that whites recognize transition, take initiative without being pushed, be willing to meet with and talk about problems with African Americans, and take action. It was also mentioned that many whites would be willing to support projects striving toward integration if they were kept anonymous. The meeting concluded with the president, Rabbi Shwartz, giving Reverend Jupiter a farewell tribute.]]></dcterms:description>
