<dcterms:description><![CDATA[This exhibit shows objects from St. James Catholic Cathedral, located at 215 North Orange Ave. In 1881, the church developed the property as a parochial school. The school, known as St. James Academy, was home to 200 students until 1929. In the 1930s the Catholic Church sold the property to the Federal government, which used the land to construct the Downtown Orlando Post Office. In 1989, the church repurchased the land and today shares the building with the United States Postal Service (USPS). Orlando Remembered is a community based group, dedicated to the preservation of Downtown Orlando's past. To date, the group has constructed 18 exhibits in the downtown area that highlight the current building's connection to the past.]]></dcterms:description>
