An oral history interview of George G. McGuire, who joined the U.S. Air Force in 1963 and served until 1983. He was born on Summit, New Jersey, on October 17, 1941. A veteran of the Vietnam War era, McGuire achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.<br /><br />This interview was conducted by Judy Scherer on April 1, 2014. Interview topics include McGuire's background and family, his college education, join the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Whiteman Air Force Base, McCoy Air Force Base, duties as a procurement officer and a contract administrator, the Defense Contract Administration Services, serving in Bangkok during the Vietnam War, the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (USAFOSI), the Rock Island Arsenal, military retirement, U.S.-Thailand relations, and his many travel experiences.

An autographed portrait of Vijaya Lakshmi Nehru Pandit, which is housed at the Mary McLeod Bethune Foundation, located at 640 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard in Daytona Beach, Florida. Pandit was born on August 18, 1900, in Allahabad in the North-Western Provinces of British India. In 1937, she became the first Indian woman to hold a cabinet post when she was elected to the provincial legislature of the United Provinces of British India. Pandit was also designated the minister of local self-government and the minister of public health, a position which she held until 1939 and again from 1946 to 1947. In 1946, Pandit was elected to the Constituent Assembly.<br /><br />After Indian gained independence from Great Britain in 1947, Pandit became the Indian Ambassador to the Soviet Union from 1947 to 1949, the Ambassador to the United States and to Mexico from 1949 to 1951, Ambassador to Ireland from 1955 to 1961, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1958 to 1961, and Ambassador to Spain from 1958 to 1961. She also led the Indian delegation to the United Nations from 1946 to 1968. In 1953, Pandit became the first female President of the United Nations General Assembly. Pandit also served as Governor of Mahra from 1962 to 1964 and then as Phulpur's representative at the Lok Sabha, Indian's lower house, from 1964 to 1968. In the late 1960s, Pandit retired but was later appointed to the UN Human Rights Commission in 1979. She died on December 1, 1990.

This brochure shows model homes that were being built in the Oak Ridge community of Pine Castle, Florida. The brochure features five ranch model homes and includes prices and available interest rates. Florida Ranch Lands, Inc. is a real estate development firm founded by Craig Linton in the early 1960s. Linton's firm was best known for brokering the land deal that brought the Walt Disney Company to its present location. This brochure was also co-opted by Florida Gas Utilities Company.
