<em>The Maitland News</em> was a local newspaper originally published by the Maitland Realty Company (and later by the Maitland News Company) which began circulation in April 1926. This edition features articles on topics such as the opening of a cash grocery, speed laws, a Chamber of Commerce party, American Red Cross donations, tax laws, city water, Christmas decorations, the dredging of Lake Sybelia, a cleanest town contest, zoning, pest control, an engineering conference, a firemen's banquet, the Baby Grand Theatre of Winter Park, Maitland Mayor Upmeyer appearing on WDBO radio, library notes, school notes, a writing contest, the housing arrangements of local residents, and a local events calendar. Also featured is a legal notice and several advertisements for local businesses.

<em>The Maitland News</em> was a local newspaper originally published by the Maitland Realty Company (and later by the Maitland News Company) which began circulation in April 1926. This edition features articles on topics such as the organization of the city government, American Red Cross donations, plans for State Highway No. 3, a Chamber of Commerce supper, the reorganization of the Epworth League, the formation of the Christian Endeavor Society, church services, new housing, a radio agency, water connection rates, school notes, pest control, the housing arrangements of local residents, and a local events calendar. Also featured is a legal notice and several advertisements for local businesses.

<em>The Maitland News</em> was a local newspaper originally published by the Maitland Realty Company (and later by the Maitland News Company) which began circulation in April 1926. This edition features articles on topics such as the awarding of street paving contracts, hurricane damage in Fort Lauderdale, the death of a local resident, new families settling in Maitland, a local wedding, the hurricane relief efforts of the Maitland Auxiliary, a new secretary for the Chamber of Commerce, a Presbyterian church resuming services, an editorial reprinted from the <em>The Orlando Sentinel</em> on the hurricane that hit South Florida, a Chamber of Commerce picnic, the housing arrangements of local residents, and a local events calendar. Also featured are several advertisements for local businesses.

A history written by Helen Leinhart chronicling the history of the Oviedo Woman's Club (OWC), which was founded in 1906 as the Oviedo Magazine Club by seven charter members: H. B. McCall, Edith Meade, Georgia Lee Wheeler, Lillian Lee Lawton, Mattie Aulin Wheeler, Milcah Yonge, and Mary King. The first clubhouse was constructed in 1914 and also served as Oviedo's first library. In 1916, the club joined the FFWC and officially changed its name to the Oviedo Woman's Club. In 1923, the woman's club was federated under the umbrella of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs (GFWC). A new clubhouse was built in 1961 on property donated by R. L. Croom, a former member, which is located at 414 King Street. The Oviedo Woman's Club is involved in many civic projects, including the annual Great Day in the Country Arts and Crafts Festival, the Spring Fundraiser, Tasting Luncheons, and Celebrate Spring Teas.

The article chronicles the history of the Oviedo Woman's Club (OWC), which was founded in 1906 as the Oviedo Magazine Club by seven charter members: H. B. Oral history of Jackie Caolo, a resident of Groveland, Florida. Caolo was born in Texas but raised in Florida. As an adult, she traveled with her husband for 20 years while he was in the United States Navy. In 1956, the Caolo's husband was transferred to the Naval Technical Training Command in Sanford. The Caolos stayed in Sanford for a year and then were transferred to Texas. After Caolo's husband retired, the couple settled back in Sanford. Caolo spent much of her time working as a swim instructor. This interview was conducted by Frank "Chip" Ford at Caolo's home on October 20, 2012.

Walton MacJordan (b. 1905) was born in 1905 in Kentucky and attended college at the University of Alabama. He moved to Georgia and started his career in retail by becoming the youngest manager of a department store in the South. In 1932, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and started working for Sears, Roebuck & <span>Company as a merchandise manager. A year later, he relocated to Orlando where he became the manager of the Sears store located at 111-113 North Orange Avenue. MacJordan left Orlando in 1937 for Chicago, Illinois, to work at the headquarters of Sears as a General Merchandise Manager of all stores. In 1942, during World War II, MacJordan served in the United States Air Force. During his service as a lieutenant, he used his experience he had in retail to manage the supplies and maintenance for several bases. He soon became a public relations officer for the southeastern portion of the country and was promoted to captain. In 1945, he returned to Orlando to manage Sears again. MacJordan also served his community as chairman of the American Red Cross in Orlando in 1950 and a member of the board of directors of the Central Florida Exposition.</span>

Blackman was formally a professor at Yale University and President of Rollins College. The book was published by the E. O. Painter Printing Company of DeLand, Florida in 1927. The book gives a basic history of Orange County as well as biographical sketches of many of the counties early settlers and important citizens. It has 42 photographic portraits of some of the citizens.
