The program engaged a team of scholars to make the life stories of veterans buried in the Florida National Cemetery available to the public. The project engages UCF students in research and writing and fosters collaboration between students, faculty and local Central Florida schools to produce interactive curriculum for k-12 students. Title Certificate of Marriage for Edward John Seidel and Harriet Bender Alternative Title Certificate of Marriage for Seidel and Bender Subject Veterans--Florida Description Certificate of marriage for Edward John Seidel (1915-1996) and Harriet Bender in Arlington, Virginia, on September 20, 1967. The marriage certificate includes information about the bride and groom's age, race, number of times previously married, occupation, industry or business, birthplace, parents' full names, mailing address, and date and place of proposed marriage. The couple married on September 25, 1967.<br /><br /> Born on March 6, 1915, in Buffalo, New York, Seidel grew up in New York State before moving to Northern Virginia to work for the United States Department of Agriculture. He married his first wife, Mildred Lunsford, in 1938, and fathered four children: Lance, Mary Ann, Walter and Daniel. Seidel enlisted in the United States Army on May 7, 1945. In 1967, Seidel and his wife divorced. After marrying Harriet Bender in 1967, the family lived in Delaware before moving to Central Florida in 1992. On September 1, 1996, Seidel passed away at the age of eighty-one.
