The meeting was held at Temple Israel in Winter Springs, Florida. The association was founded with the purpose of being "open to all clergymen of Orlando regardless of faith or race or creed" and to "attempt to meet the challenge and development of Orlando, with its concomitant social, moral and religious problems, through the unified thinking and action of all religious leaders". The document lists the charter members and the elections of officers. The minutes were recorded by John C. The meetings were held on December 5, 1958, and January 19, 1959. The record of the December meeting was written by acting secretary J. E. Williams. It was conducted at the Y.M.C.A., and Bill Briggs, the religion editor of the Orlando Sentinel, was present. A letter from the Martin Company inviting the Orlando Ministerial Association to attend a lunch at the plant was accepted. The meeting concluded with Rabbi Shwartz reading excerpts from "Only in America" by Harry Golden. The readings, which pertained to the racial situation in the south, were positively received by the members in attendance. The record of the January meeting was authored by John C. Fuller.
