An autographed portrait of Dr. John Hope, which is housed at the Mary McLeod Bethune Foundation, located at 640 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard in Daytona Beach, Florida. Dr. Hope was born in Augusta, Georgia, on June 2, 1868. He is well-known as an African-American educator and activist. He earned his college degrees at Worcester Academy in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
