The earliest known residents of Suite 503 were also all African Americans: J. R. Neal in 1911, Louis Rivers in 1917, and Ernest Clayton in 1924. In 1926, R. L. Hill was running his grocery store from this location. This address was listed as vacant from approximately 1947 to 1952.
