In 1970, the Westinghouse Electric Corporation's Gas Turbine Systems Division, located in Lester and Eddystone, Pennsylvania, introduced its pioneering concept for a pre-engineered packaged combined-cycle power plant comprised of two W-501 gas turbines, two heat recovery boilers (or heat recovery steam generators), and one 100MW steam turbine.
