The Carey Hand Funeral Home, originally located at 39 West Pine Street, was founded by Elijah Hand in 1885. Hand was the first known embalmer in Orlando. In 1907, his son, Carey Hand, inherited the funeral home. He passed away in 1947 and his wife sold the business the following year. In 1969, the Carey Hand Funeral Home merged with Cox-Parker Funeral Homes. Now called the Carey-Hand Cox Parker Funeral Home, the home is located at 1350 West Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park, Florida.]]>
