On the back of the card is a photo of J. F. Chase. and a small biography, which reads, "Capt. J. F. Chase. The founder of Veteran City. Aiide-de-Camp on Staff of Commander in Chief G.A.R., Commander of Department of Florida of the United Veterans of the Blue and Grey. Past Commander Department of Florida G.A.R. No. 1 Cannonier of the 5th Me. Battery. Received forty-eight wounds at the Battle of Gettysburg, July 2, 1863. Received a Medal of Honour from Congress for meritorious conduct at the Battle of Chancellorsville, May 3, 1863. Past Commander Kit Carson Post G.A.R. Now living at St. Petersburg, FLA."<br />
