The Albertson Public Library, located at 101 East Central Boulevard.

The Albertson Public Library opened its doors in November 1923 with 20,000 books. The library was named after Captain Charles L. Albertson for his generous donation of 12,000 books. The Sorosis Club of Orlando acted as the circulating library in the community until the public library was organized.

The expanded Orlando Public Library.

As plans were made in 1963 for a new library to open, the Albertson Public Library was demolished. In its place, the Orlando Public Library was erected in 1966. Barely 10 years later, there were plans to expand the library. In April of 1986, the current 290,000 square foot library opened.
