Local D.A.R. Members Will Give Luncheon And Colonial Exhibit
The Sallie Harrison Chapter N. S. D. A. R. will give a bridge luncheon and colonial art exhibit on Friday at one o’clock at the Hotel Forrest Lake. The proceeds derived from this will be used for the educational fund.
Many families in Sanford have valuable relics of interest, some of colonial, revolutionary of other historical periods and the chapter, desiring to make its exhibit both instructive and interesting, and would appreciate having these relics loaned for that day. As the hotel has very generously loaned the chapter a room for that day, the owner of the relics may be assured that they will be well taken care of.
Quite a number of rare pieces of old china, silver, valuable laces and many other articles have been promised. All those who have breakables are asked to have t hem carefully wrapped and tagged, and if possible have a short history written concerning the article.
Those who have articles are asked to notify either Mrs. A. M. DeForrest or Mrs. L. P. Hagan, and they will call for and return the articles.
For those who wish to view the exhibit alone the rooms will be opened from 3 to 5 o’clock. There will be a small fee.
