D.A.R. WILL MEET HERE NEXT YEAR FOR CONFERENCE

Mrs. John Leonardi Elected First Vice Regent, Being Unanimous Choice For Place; Mrs. Watson Is Commended.

Selection of Sanford for next year’s conference and the annual election of officers featured the closing session yesterday of the Florida Daughters of American Revolution meeting at Sarasota. The city was also honored by the organization in the election of Mrs. John Leonardi as first vice regent to serve for a term of two years. The election of Mrs. Leonardi to the second highest office in the state organization was in recognition of the splendid service which she has _________ed in other important capacities. She served for six years on the state board and was then elected registrar, an office which she filled for two years. This was followed by one term as recording secretary and for the past two years, Mrs. Leonardi has been state treasurer. Her election to first vice regent was unanimous. Mrs. Leonardi has been prominent in club activities for a number of years. She is at present serving as regent of the Sallie Harrison chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution. She is a former president of the Sanford Woman’s Club and of the Seminole County Federation of Woman’s Club. Bringing next year’s conference here is a signal honor for Sanford. Local members of the organization today expressed pleasure at having an opportunity to entertain the state convention. The Sarasota meeting was declared one of the most successful and enjoyable in the history of the Florida branch. The conference sent a message to Mrs. W. F. Watson extending regrets upon her inability to attend and expressing appreciation of her work in behalf the society.
