Boston Hill Cemetery

Because blacks were forbidden from being buried in the town's cemetery, there was a pressing need to create a place where African Americans could peacefully lay their dead to rest. Prince Butler Boston donated five acres of land to the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for this very purpose. He also made funeral costs free of charge, guarenteeing Oviedo's black community access to a proper and honarable burial.
