Bonnie Georgiadis
In 1953, Bonnie Georgiadis started working as a Weeki Wachee mermaid at the age 17, when she was still in high school.. “My older sister went to high school with a lot of the kids who were the first ones to swim at Weeki Wachee in the shows. And so she drove me up there to see them perform and I just fell in love with it. I just thought it was magic.”
