Card Party
The ladies of the Altar Society of the Catholic church entertained at a card party on Monday evening at the Priest’s House. Five Hundred was the game of the evening. There were about nine tables of players.
The rooms were tastefully decorated with cut flowers and ferns. After the game refreshments of cake and coffee were served.
Miss Katherine Aycock won the first prize, which was a dainty piece of hand painted china. The gentlemen’s prize, a box of handkerchiefs was won my Mr. Tom Shelly. Two consolation prizes were given, both being bouquets of pink roses and were presented to Mrs. LaVerne Hurt and Andrew Mahoney.
