Enjoyable Party Is
Given For Children American Revolution
An unusually affair of Saturday afternoon was that given by Mrs. John Leonardi when she entertained members of the Children of American Revolution at her home on Holly Avenue.
Red and Green were the prevailing colors and were carried out with baskets of cut flowers in the varying shades of red, combined with ferns, and tall, red cathedral candles in green holders.
The children were delightfully entertained during the afternoon by a number of games, contests, and making valentines. “Pinning on the Donkey’s Tail” afforded much merriment. Artemesis Brooks won the first prize, a box of card cut outs, while the second prize, a game of “Puzzle Peg,” went to Adelaide Key.
For finding the first valentine in the “Valentine Hunt,” Georgena Hart received a pink ostrich fan. Katherine Thigpen won the second prize, it being a Fun Saving Book. In the color contest the prizes, paper cutting scissors, were won by Adelaide Key, Georgena Hart and Virginia McDaniel.
Sarah Rossiter won a pair of scissor for finding the lost object. At the conclusion of games and contests, the hostess assisted by Mrs. Raymond Key and Mrs. George Davis Hart served ice cream and cake as refreshments.
The young guests included only members of the Captain Reuben Briscoe
Chapter Children of the American Revolution.
