Norwegian Who Sailed Norge
To Pole Last Summer Will
Speak In Orlando Friday
Night At City Auditorium
Capt. Roald Amundsen, distin- guished Norwegian explorer,
whose flight over the North Pole
in the dirigible Norge was one of the most outstanding exploration feats of modern history, stopped in Sanford for a brief visit this evening while enroute to Daytona Beach where he will spend the day.
Capt. Amundsen, accompanied by J. C. Bru__ster, one of the pub – lishers of the Orlando Reporter- Star, visited the offices of the Herald and confirmed announce- ments that he is to speak in Orlando next Friday night. His address, he stated, will deal with the Norge expedition, that was made successful through the aid of an American, Lincoln Ellsworth, who accompanied Capt. Amund- sen on the famous flight.
The address is to be made Friday evening at 8:15 o’clock in the city auditorium at Orlando and a large number of central Florida citizens are expected to hear it. Pictures depicting the flight of the Norge over the pole will be shown and the lecture will be illustrated throughout.
The explorer was brought to Orlando under the auspices of the Reporter-Star, the afternoon daily of that city.
