Description

Minutes of a monthly meeting of the Orlando Ministerial Association. The meeting was held on June 5, 1958, at the Y.M.C.A. in Orlando, Florida. The focus of this meeting was the bombings of a synagogue and African-American school that took place in Jacksonville on April 28, 1958. Two letter were read by Rabbi Kurz, who was the chairman of a special committee concerning the tragedy. The first letter was to the mayor and police department of Jacksonville and the second was to Representative Herlong and two Florida senators. At the end of the meeting, it was authorized that letters of thanks be sent to Mr. Brock, secretary of the Y.M.C.A. for letting them use their building as a meeting place. Appreciation of Pat Pinkerton of the Orlando Sentinel was also expressed due to her providing fair coverage of the meeting. The document was written by John C. Fuller, who was Secretary of the Orlando Ministerial Association.
