Description

The headstone inscription and interment record for Corporal Wilson Foch Smith, a native of Graceville, Florida. After completing four years of high school, Smith travelled to Montgomery, Alabama to enlist as a private in the U.S. Army Reserves. Upon his enlistment, he entered Company B of the 654th Tank Destroyer Battalion. 15 days after Germany's surrender, Cpl. Smith died in a plane crash near Taillefontaine, France. He is currently buried at the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial in Dinozé, France.
