This document shows the official marriage of Van Porcher and Hattie Smith. Private Van Buren Porcher was a United States army soldier during World War II. Born in and enlisting from Alachua County, Florida, Porcher was assigned to the 448th Quartermaster Truck company on May 28, 1943. After over a year of service, Porcher died on September, 2, 1944. He is currently buried at the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial in Dinozé, France. Porcher is one of 85 Florida residents interned at Epinal.
