The list of demands set forth by the BSU (Black Student Union) are concerning the immediate approval and implementation of specific programs that would benefit the student body, faculty and promote general equality for the student organization.

Dear Mr. Goree:
Attached is a list of demands made by the Black Student Union of Florida Technological University.
Also, Attached is a copy of the Registration for Demonstrating, Picketing, etc. form. The date is set for the demonstration to begin is November 6,1977, no later than 3:30 p.m.
If you wish to discuss this matter with us, please contact the Black Student Union Office to set up an appointment.

The Black Student Union of Florida Technological University do hereby demand the University immediately approve and implement the following:
I. The Minority Student Service Department
A. Minority Affairs Center Proposal submitted by the Black Student Union be fully implemented.
B. Be given an operational budget.
C. All Special Student Service Programs and Projects of the University be made centralized and placed under the Minority Student Service.
D. The Director be given the authority to investigate the areas that are responsible for providing services to students to determine if these areas are making every possible effort to recruit, retain, and provide adequate services to minority students. Also, the Director be given the authority to make recommendations for improvement to the EEO Task Force.
E. Assist Director be Hired (every effort be made to recruit qualified female applicants).
II. The University approve and implement the Affirmative Action Proposal
A. The University employ more Black Personnel:
1.Administrators
2. Faculty
3. Supervisors
4. Other academic areas
III. The University approve and implement Black Studies Proposal
IV. Adequate amount of money be allocated to the Black Student Union every year.
A. Provide funding for the implementation of the Black Student Union Programs and Projects submitted to the University.
V. EEO Task Force be redesigned:
1. More Blacks
2. Community member
3. President of Black Student Union
4. President of Student Government
5. Black Employees Association

6. Director of Minority Student Services
A. EEO Task Force set up periodic time for meetings
VI. Student Government for the purpose of improving and developing programs and services for minority students.
VII. University, through the Minority Student Service Office, fund and implement a comprehensive orientation program for minority students entering the University.
VIII. A special committee should be established by the University to draw up plans for the implementation of the above demands.
IX. The participants of this committee will he selected by the University and representatives of the Black student Union.
