The Salvation Army of Orlando
The Salvation Army got its start in London in the mid-1800s. After reaching the United States, the Orlando Salvation Army was established in 1920 and was located on Central Avenue (present-day Central Boulevard) and Magnolia Avenue. Since then, the organization has been serving those in need with shelter, food, and Christian services.

Below is a photograph of the Orlando Salvation Army band, which played on the corner of Church Street and Orange Avenue every Saturday evening for a corner-side service.
