The crawler-transporter-transporter moving a Saturn V to the launch pad at John F. Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39 (LC-39). The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) had previously assembled launch vehicles at the pad, stacking them in place. In a then-revolutionary move, NASA began performing vehicle assembly in the new Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) built specifically to assemble the Apollo-Saturn V launch vehicle, on top of the launcher and move the whole assembly to the pad. The huge crawler-transporter goes under the launcher/vehicle and moves it at a maximum speed of one mph to the launch pad.
