FTU Fraternity Collects Yule Cards For Vietnam

By 1969, America's involvement in the Vietnam War was at its approximate climax, with 1968 being the key year of exponential escalation. While more and more troops poured into South Vietnam, America’s youth grew more and more restless. This restlessness was epitomized by demonstration on college campuses. Often times, troops were shunned or discredited in Vietnam or once returned home, however, in a compassionate act, this FTU fraternity displays otherwise.

Have an left-over, new or used Christmas cards? Tau Epsilon Rho (TEP) fraternity of FTU needs them!
They are presently embarked upon a Christmas card drive to send greetings to servicemen in Vietnam. The drive began on Nov. 20 and will continue through Dec. 18.
"WE HAVE HAD excellent response from the general public and we are now appealing to FTU students," said Joe Griffen, TEP brother.
The cards will be signed "Citizens of Central Florida and Students of FTU." They will be addressed to "Any Soldier in S. Vietnam." TEP will take care of the addressing.
"We hope to get a card to each soldier in Vietnam," said Griffen

FTU PRESIDENT Charles Millican is compiling a list of Central Florida men in Vietnam. Those cards will be addressed personally.
Persons donating cards may write any type of message to the soldiers if they desire, and are requested to turn cards in to the Main Desk of the TEP mailbox or mail them to TEP at FTU.
