From the Florida Frontier to a City's Backbone: Orlando's Public Service, 1870s-1950s

Many people do not realize the effect that public service has had on shaping Orlando's history. This exhibit explores the contributions of Orlando City Hall and its mayors in accordance with other public sectors.T he early Orlando Police Department (OPD) and the Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) will also be looked at and how they aided the growth and safety of Orlando.

Looking into the history of these organizations not only helps us to learn about them and the history of Orlando, but also the scope of society as a whole and the current events that have shaped and are currently shaping the city today.
