Althea Beatrice Cato, later Althea Beatrice Cato Lucas, on a parade float. The Harold V. Lucas, Jr. Foundation identifies Cato as the first Miss Bethune-Cookman and states that this photograph appeared in a Bethune-Cookman yearbook. The handwritten identification "Althea Beatrice Cato Lucas" beneath the photograph was added by her son, Harold V. Lucas Jr., many years later. The date and photographer have not been identified.
