Frigidaire
Frigidaire was an appliance company that started in 1916 in Indiana. In 1928, Claude H. Wolfe opened a Frigidaire store in Downtown Orlando. The first store location was at 130 North Orange Avenue, but later moved to 19 East Washington Street. Wolfe pitched his product by explaining to customers the benefits of a self-cooling appliance rather than constantly buying more ice to put in their ice box to keep their food fresh. In later years, the store would also sell appliances such as stoves, room air conditioners, and washing machines.
