Another part of a mermaid's day-to-day duties was modeling the products of sponsors. This letter is from the makeup company Dorothy Gray, Ltd., written to Becky Young thanking her for her time. Dorothy Gray, Ltd. gave Becky and other mermaids free products as a thank you.
Bonnie Georgiadis had a difficult time modeling for one company whose products were not of the highest quality. "This man gave us plastic face masks. They were for children. Flippers. First flipper I tried on, the flap broke behind my heel. I couldn't wear it. They were going to film the show with us wearing their wonderful equipment, and we just couldn't use it! And at the end of the show, he came out just exasperated and said, 'You're real troopers you know!'"
